Terms and Conditions

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase from Silver Sixpence in her Shoe. To help make sure that happens, please view our Terms and Conditions below and email us at hello@silversixpenceinhershoe.co.uk if you have any queries.


All of our products are handmade to order, frequently using vintage laces and jewellery. As a result, some minor variations may occur from the image or product description, guaranteeing you a piece which is truly unique. We do, however, match our pieces as closely as possible to the original image. If you wish to ensure that your piece can be made precisely as pictured then please get in touch before placing your order.

Lead times:

Every piece available to purchase via our website will specify a lead-time and the additional time to allow for delivery. In the main, please allow up to two weeks for garters, horseshoes and simpler headpieces and up to eight weeks for larger headpieces, plus a further 2-5 business days for delivery on all products.

If you require your product in a shorter time and/or need it delivering for a specific date then please contact us before placing your order. We can usually accomodate this

Silver Sixpence goes to every effort to ensure that your order reaches you on time and in perfect condition but occasionally an item can be lost or damaged in transit. If your product has not arrived within five business days of dispatch then please contact us and, if appropriate, we will do our best to issue a replacement in a timely manner, subject to availability.


Standard UK delivery is free


Silver Sixpence products are beautifully and securely packaged and sent by Royal Mail. Standard delivery charges are £5 for up to three items, £10 for three or more. Please allow a further 2-5 business days for delivery on top of the specified product lead-time. If you need to ensure that you receive your order on or by a specific date then please contact us before placing your order to request that your item be sent by Special Delivery, at additional cost.


Items for international delivery are sent by Airsure and are charged at £10 for up to three items. Please allow up to 5 business days for the product to arrive into the country plus local delivery time. Silver Sixpence can accept no responsibility for delays due to local delivery procedures.


Please try to allow a minimum of three months when requesting a bespoke product. Following a one-on-one consultation, a design for your product will be created and, once agreed, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. We will remain in contact with you throughout the process of creating your product and the remaining 50% plus postage and packing is required prior to collection or dispatch. Please note that refunds are not available on bespoke products.

Hen Parties:

Our Craft it Yourself parties last for approximately two hours and are priced at £30 a head for groups of 15 or fewer, £25 per head for groups of 15 or more. Please allow half an hour on either side of the party for setting up and packing away. Prices and timings stated allow for the creation of one headpiece per person, which is yours to keep. Parties must be booked for a minimum of eight guests.

Whilst we will do our best to accommodate requests to make pieces for a specific theme, era or colour, these materials are subject to availability so please check at the time of booking.

Travel within the Greater Manchester area is free of charge. Journeys outside of this area are charged at 45p per mile.

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking. Numbers must be confirmed no later than three weeks before the event and payment in full made at this time.

Silver Sixpence can accept no responsibility for damage to the property or injury to individuals whilst taking part in our workshops.

An Era of Experience Parties:

Era of Experience parties last for between 3.5 to 4.5 hours, plus half an hour each side to allow for setting up and packing away. Prices start at £65 per person and parties must be booked for a minimum of eight guests.

Travel within Didsbury, Chorlton and Manchester city centre is free of charge. Outside of these areas we charge 85p per mile, which covers two cars and parking.

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking. Numbers must be confirmed no later than three weeks before the event and payment in full is required at that time. Payment will only be accepted by bank transfer.

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of jewellery, for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It:

as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services

I do not, as a rule share any information abut my customers to a third party. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as postage companies. I will share your personal information such as address with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention:

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Your Rights:

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
